i'd heard that if you take ambien and then try to stay awake you experience crazy hallucinations. having tried this, i can't say it worked. however as a sleeping pill-- holy shit. like a sledgehammer.

I remember reading a while ago about Blixa Bargeld and chums trying out sleep depreviation as a means to inspire oneself musically (i.e., Einstuerzende Neubauten's "Z.N.S." was apparently the fruit of this experiment).

I also recall reading that sleep deprivation is also an effective instrument of torture.

Not sure if I wanna try fighting that sledgehammer, tho'. Ain't that brave. At least not since I turned in my senior design project. :)
